This paper deals with power efficiency issues in OFDM-based broadband wireless systems for the MM-wave band. We consider grossly nonlinear power amplifiers only, within conventional and two-branch transmitter structures; channel coding and interleaving in the frequency domain; a space-diversity, maximal-ratio combining scheme, and, as an alternative to conventional ARQ, similar time-diversity, packet combining schemes.
