The EAD device was a monolithic integration of an electro-absorption modulator (EAM) and a photodiode (PD) with traveling wave electrodes. For the electrical crosstalk between an EAM and a PD on an EAD, the coupled transmission line model and 2-D FEM simulation were used, and the results were compared with the measured results.
