Compensation Approach for Miniaturized Wilkinson Power Divider Design
Although coupled microstrip line structure are widely used in various microwave components for miniaturization, because of its phase velocity difference in Wilkinson power divider design, port reflections (S11, $S$22 and $S$33) cannot match with port isolation (S32) at the same center frequency. In this paper, several compensation approaches are summarized for compact Wilkinson power dividers with single-band application. By adding extra lumped elements, capacitor or inductor can be shunted into the coupled microstrip line structures. Considering less parasitic effects around lumped elements, extra 50 Ω transmission lines and open-circuited stubs are preferred for high frequency applications. Finally, several selected examples are fabricated and measured, all the simulated results are matched with measured results very well.
