Duetothetemporarynatureofconstructionprojects,however,therecontinuestobecertainbarriers andchallengesofKMthatarehardtoovercome.ThisarticleexplorestheuseofBuildingInformation Modelling(BIM)toachievebetterKMinUKconstructionorganizations.Firstofall,whyandhow BIMcanfacilitateKMinconstructionprojectsareidentifiedfromtheliteraturereview.Secondly, aquestionnairesurveyinquantitativemeasurementisusedtoinvestigatekeyaspectsofKMthat canbeimprovedbyusingBIM.Theresultsofquantitativedataanalysisarefurtherdiscussedwith thehelpof literaturereview.It isfoundin thisarticle thatBIMhasthepotential tosupportKM inconstructionprojects. Inparticular,BIMcontributes toproactiveKM, lifecycleKM,andKM processes.Thefindingsofthisarticleprovideresearchersandpractitionerswithabetterunderstanding ofBIM-basedKM.
