It is found that the voltage sag location of the monitor can be identified clearly by comparing the magnitude and angle of impedance before and after the voltage sag event. The monitor can obtain the necessary impedance data by applying the relay’s algorithm or using distance estimates for the relay at that location. The radial unit distribution system network was constructed using SIMULINK. A comparison from several research papers was made between the Radial unit system and the Ring unit distribution system to observe the impedance magnitude and angle value.
