An Evaluation of the Effect of Community Rehabilitation Service for Youth with Mental Disorder in China

At the present stage, there are a large number of youth over 14 years old with mental disorders in China, which has not yet attracted attention from the practice and research. At the same time, the rehabilitation system for this group of youth is lacking in China, including a lack of national policies and rehabilitation institutions for them, hindering them to integrate into society and employment. Community rehabilitation services make full use of community resources and can alleviate the deficiencies of rehabilitation assistance system. This kind of empowerment-orientated rehabilitation can help youth with mental disorders to fulfill the task of social role adaptation, as well as to meet their needs of physical and mental rehabilitation and social value realization. Based on the investigation of one service center in Wuhan, this paper explored the content of community rehabilitation service, and conducted an evaluation on the effect of community rehabilitation service for youth with mental disorder through the interview with 15 youth and their parents. 面向大龄心智障碍青年的社区康复服务效果评估研究
