By enabling access to digital materials, academic institutions are utilizing the technological revolution to transform teaching and research. With the removal of financial, legal, and technical barriers, more academic institutions and faculty members are now able to access digital materials online, transforming teaching and research on a global scale. OERs have made it possible to offer accessible and free information resources for everyone in the academic setting since they are affordable and customizable. When aiming at certain audiences, the capacity to adapt and adjust material offers a significant benefit. The growing need for instructional materials and learning tools in contrast to the dire budgetary circumstances at many institutions.
