However, it has a serious problem, which is the endpoint effect. Mirror continuation is an effective method of restraining the endpoint effect, but when processing the endpoint effect with the mirror continuation, we demand the mirror placed at the local extreme points. According to this limitation, this paper proposes an improved mirror continuation method. Namely, we assume the two endpoints of signals are maximum or minimum points according to the condition before using the mirror continuation, and then do the mirror continuation. It can overcome the error of continuation, which is generated for the reason that the place where the mirror put is not extreme point in the mirror continuation method. The Improved Algorithm of the EMD Endpoint Effect Based on the Mirror Continuation
