To this end, new knowledge will be required and a new engineering professional profile will be required. To meet this new demand, the Education 4.0 concept has emerged to show how the education system should be more innovative and collaborative and how technology can be an ally of education. In this context, in the present work, a study was made about new teaching ideas and new skills and competencies that need to be worked on in universities. A qualitative and quantitative research was carried out with a questionnaire, with engineering course professors from three public universities of different states (EEL-USP, UNIFEI and UERJ) regarding the BrazilianJournal of Development Braz. J. of Develop., Curitiba, v. 5, n. 9, p. 15255-15266 sep. 2019 ISSN 2525-8761 15256 opinion about the current teaching and what factors are present in the study. Education 4.0 can help improve engineering teaching.
