Final results of the development of a 2400 b/s LPC vocoder
The final results obtained from a TMS 32010-based 2400 b/s linear-predictive coding (LPC) vocoder system are described. The design used as well as practical considerations and problems associated with the preprocessing and pitch prediction are discussed. The results of intelligibility tests, performed with phonetically balanced word lists, are also described. The good results obtained with the system are due mainly to the large dynamic range of the input stage, as well as the judicious choice of algorithms and the accurate implementation thereof.<>
