Measurement of polarization dependent loss, polarization mode dispersion and group delay of optical components using swept optical single sideband modulated signals
We introduce a novel method for the measurement of wavelength-dependent polarization-averaged group delay, polarization dependent loss and polarization mode dispersion of optical components using swept optical single sideband modulated signals. Measurements of a phase-shifted fiber Bragg grating, a chirped fiber Bragg grating and of Brillouin spectra are used to demonstrate the system.
