Time-varying matching network for antennas in pulse-based systems
In this paper, a time-varying matching technique is proposed for electrically small antennas in pulse-based systems. The matching performance of the proposed design is not limited by the gain-bandwidth restriction, and hence can be used for high Q antennas. Simulation results show that the overall antenna efficiency can be significantly improved (e.g. from 1% to 40%) with the time-varying matching network by reducing the reflection loss.
