This paper deals with the characteristic improvement and realization of a dome-shaped patch antenna applied as EMI sensor. The proposed antenna, which basically has two main parts, namely dome part and lower part, is designed on two layers of dielectric substrate with the dimension of 75 mm × 80 mm, and fed by a method of proximity coupled feeding to improve the radiation characteristic. Some investigations emphasized on two main parts of the antenna are carried out to obtain an optimum performance on its radiation characteristic prior the realization.
