Abstract:This article reflects on an Arab American Studies in the K-12 Classroom Teacher Institute held in the Summer of 2022. It situates the California institute in relation to ethnic studies and anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian racism. Arab American Curriculumwork is the framework used by the author to describe a "process of culturally and community responsive curricular co-creation" that was envisioned, in which teachers and community stakeholders meet, study, reflect, collaborate and work together to produce anti-racist and anti-colonial school curricula. It is an ethnic studies approach that acknowledges the unique challenges and forms of exclusion Arab American and SWANA communities face.
