Such a concept should be made specific, measurable, applicable, consistent and traceable (SMACT). In this scope, the use of an environmental management system (EMS) is discussed and the concept of environmental performance is determined by research in a printed circuit board production facility. Environmental performance is determined using seven environmental indicators relating to material use, use of aiding compounds, water use, energy use, emissions, waste and packing material.
