This paper presents an analytical expression for determining the friction capacity parameter in steel-concrete composite beam structures under various boundary conditions. The interfacial shear stress and interfacial shear force plot of such structures is shown. The contribution of the interfacial effect to the overall rigidity of the composite structure is estimated. The analytical values of the deflections are compared with the values obtained experimentally. The results of comparison show that neglecting the interfacial effect in current standards and guidelines leads to incorrect assessment of structural deformability.
