Inverter control: Comparative study between SVM and PWM
Recently, variable speed has become very important for electric drives. For this reason, power electronics are developed. So many methods that guarantee a variable speed to control the alternate drive are proposed. Such as, stand-alone inverters are controlled in pulse width modulations (PWM) and using space vector modulation (SVM). This paper presents a comparative study between Pulse Width Modulation and Space Vector Modulation to control a two level inverter. The principle of each method is presented. Simulation results prove the effectiveness and the feasibility of the two methods. These results evaluate the performances of SVM.
