Haciendo un rápido paseo por la evolución de la expresión cinematográfica, el autor se plantea la influencia que los cambios políticos en España tuvieron sobre la producción de películas. ¿Existe un cine republicano? La historia del cine en la España del momento obedece más bien a las necesidades comerciales del nuevo invento y a la influencia de las distribuidoras extranjeras. Este plano general nos permite conocer algunos de los títulos más destacados, sus productores, directores y actores, y los temas que más atraían al público español. Imposible no mencionar el caso de Luis Buñuel como exponente bien diferenciado en medio de este panorama. La guerra convertirá la expresión cinematográfica en un vehículo más para la propaganda ideológica de todas las partes implicadas, aunque los intereses del bando franquista pasaban más por vencer que por convencer.Palabras clave: Cine sonoro, Segunda República, géneros cinematográficos.Abstract: In a rapid approximation to the cinematographic expression, the author speaks about the influence of the political changes in Spain on the production of films. Is there a Republican cinema as such? Really, the History of the Spanish cinema has mainly to do with the commercial necessities of that new invention, and with the influence of the foreign distributers. Thanks to this long shot we know some of the more significant titles of that moment, as well as about film directors and stars, and also the more attractive subjects to the Spanish public. Impossible not to mention the case of Luis Buñuel, a very important exponent of the Spanish Cinema. During the Spanish Civil War, both sides will use cinematographic expression as another vehicle for ideological propaganda, but the fascists had more interest, no in convince, but in to win.Key words: sounded films, Second Spanish Republic, cinematographic genders.
