A combined dipole/bow-tie printed antenna for dual-band operation
A novel type of printed dual-band antenna for WLAN applications is proposed. The radiating elements consist of a combination of printed dipole for the lower resonant frequency and a bow-tie antenna for the higher resonant frequency. The operation on the two separate bands is guaranteed by the correct use of surface-mounted-device inductors. The antenna has been fabricated in antipodal configuration. Measurement results demonstrated good omnidirectional properties and low cross-polarization levels.
