Conclusion : the results of the work are based on the following statement: comparison of the obtained results with the data of calculations of the structural weakening coefficient without taking into account the fractal dimension for the areas of the sides Inhulets quarry is designed in the traditional way shows that the use of the method of calculation structural weakening coefficient, given the fractal dimension allows to specify its value by 5…10 %. Comparisons of the obtained values of the coefficient of structural weakening showed that the use of the traditional method of contour blasting does not lead to a significant increase.
