Solving redundancy allocation problem applied to electrical systems using CSP and forward checking
Various players in the field of energy give a lot of importance to the evaluation of reliability of their electrical networks. Following our literature review, several limitations need to be pointed out. In this paper, we will present an accurate method of decision making based on constraint programming. Our main contributions are i) to propose a new generalized constraint based formalization of the problem that integrates the universal generating function ii) to adapt and extend the well known forward checking algorithm to find the optimal topology that combines various components by maximizing the reliability and reducing the investment cost. Our approach takes into account all system parameters unlike most existing methods of the literature. The obtained experimental results showed the efficiency of the proposed approach.
