However, there exist complex operating conditions make fault diagnosis difficult. Thus, in this paper, a diagnosis method for interturn short-circuit of PMSM for small hydropower is proposed. By analyzing the fault component, this method uses Extended State Observer (ESO) to estimate the fault signature of PMSM with interturn short-circuit. Then, the frequency tracking algorithm calculates the amplitude of faults signature and sets it as fault indicator. The method can be easily implemented in hydropower control system. Interturn Short-Circuit Fault Diagnosis of PMSM for Small Hydropower
