Micro-heterogeneous solvents were prepared using mixtures of di-alkyl ethers and 2-alkyl alkanols. These micro-heterogeneous solvents exhibit unique properties and are effective in solubilizing and removing organic asphaltenic hydrocarbon deposits from surfaces.
