Environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, rainfall, and so on are rapidly changing unpredictably. Internet-of-Things(IoT) and a wide range of agriculture sensors play a vital role to support farmers in enhancing their agricultural production despite the unpredictable behavior of natural parameters. Internet-of-Things(IoT) has a significant role in many smart applications that influences human life and sensors are inevitable in these systems. A high-volume of real-time data is generated from IoT sensor nodes deployed in farms at a faster rate. If this massive amount of data collected by IoT sensors need to be meaningful, it must be processed efficiently. This paper analyzes different types of sensors and IoT platforms used in smart farming.
