Currently, the number of women who choose a career related to engineering is still very low. Figures show that only 20% of women who access Higher Education choose a career in this area (Anuies, 2013; INEGI, 2011). The commitment of the Polytechnic University of San Luis Potosí has been to consolidate generations of professionals in the branches of manufacturing engineering with qualities and skills to face the challenges demanded by the industry of Potosí without distinction of gender. The purpose of this qualitative research from the classical ethnographic interpretive paradigm, it is to know the professional trajectory and the labor situation that the four generations of women who have graduated from the Engineering in Manufacturing Technologies career currently have. With a sample of 63% of the total female graduate population, two data collection instruments were used: a) questionnaire and b) focus group. The results raise the current employment situation in terms of obtaining the degree, first job, job requirements due to gender, barriers in professional practice and perception of the academic training received, personal and professional project. a) questionnaire and b) focus group.
