In 1908, the first modern school was opened bearing the name of Menelik II. The school first opened its door to about one hundred children of the aristocracy, so as to set a good example for the general community (Seyoum Teffera, 2005:1; Bekeke, 1991; Aweke Shishigu, 2015). Moreover, education is a powerful instrument that unlocks the door to prosperity of a nation. It is one of the main keys to the development and the improvement of mankind.
