Pre-whitening methods are one of the ways to separate deterministic signals from random signals, they are linear prediction, self-adaptive noise cancellation, new cepstral etc. Afterwards, different pre-whitening methods were developed, like de-phase algorithm and DC offset cancellation. The paper presents review of those two methods applied to different types of rotating machines, test rig gearbox bearing fault and wind turbine gearbox bearing fault.
