Message from the IDEAR 2019 Workshop Chairs

The IDEAR Workshop has extended the highly successful International Workshop on Program Debugging (IWPD) to include the program repair aspects, which are of major importance to modern software development such as in continuous integration. The goal of the IDEAR Workshop is to highlight the most pressing challenges and innovative solutions associated with program debugging and repair, especially with respect to software business, methodologies, techniques, environments, and human factors. Industry experience reports and empirical studies are also targeted by the workshop. We aim to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss the latest advancements, and to identify further challenges that must be overcome. We would like to thank the program committee members for their support at shaping the workshop program; the organizers of the ISSRE conference for kindly hosting the IDEAR Workshop; and the research community for their valued contributions to the workshop.
