Your Society’s Leadership This fall’s election by our Society membership resulted in a new class of AdCom members who join with the continuing AdCom members to administratively guide our Society. The newly elected members are: Marsha Abramo Loretta Arellano David Franklin John Healy Alan Street Jeffrey Voas My congratulations to these new members, who will serve as volunteers to our Society for the period 2003 through 2005 – a three year commitment. Our Society is very fortunate that these individuals are willing to give up some of their free time to aid our profession. Each year, our Society also elects a new slate of officers. I am honored to announce the newly elected team of officers, who will provide our Society leadership in 2003. Our newly elected officers for 2003 are: President Dr. Jeffrey Voas VP Publications Dr. Christian Hansen VP Membership Dr. Ann Campbell VP Technical Operations Dr. William Tonti VP Meetings Dr. Ann Miller My congratulations to these officers. I am pleased that each one agreed to serve our Society and for the talent and experience that each one brings. Jeff Voas, as Society President, will appoint officers to fill the positions of Treasurer and Secretary. As Jr. Past President, I and Ken LaSala, Sr. Past President, will also be members of the Society ExCom (the officers). To provide you with a little background on our incoming Society President, Jeff is starting his second AdCom tour and has held several officer positions within our Society. Jeff has a lot of energy and with his business background, he can provide the necessary leadership to see the Society through these tight financial times. Jeff is a co-founder and Chief Scientist of Cigital, a small privately held company headquartered in Virginia. He has co-authored two books and is working on a third. He has been active in conference management and has served in the capacities of General Chair and Program Chair for several conferences. Jeff is on the editorial boards of four scientific magazines / journals. He is also participating in Standards development. Jeff’s research interests include software reliability, safety, fault tolerance, metrics and measurement, standards, software certification, and product liability.
