A comparative study of digital x-ray software and detectors
This paper aimed to evaluate and compare the quality of phantom images captured from various combinations of software and detectors. The setups included alterations in two detector models, three acquisition techniques, and three software where one software has virtual grid processing. Three observers then graded images individually for high contrast resolution, low contrast-detailed detectability, and numbers of separable step wedges. A strong agreement among observers was confirmed using the Kendall coefficient of concordance (w). There are remarkable differences in image quality with software; however, the difference appears slightly among those detector models. Moreover, the virtual grid processed images show a noticeably better contrast resolution.
