Kontribusi Pengakuan Publik dalam Toleransi menurut Anna Elisabetta Galeotti Bagi Persoalan Penolakan Pembangunan Rumah Ibadah di Indonesia

This paper aims to discuss the concept of public recognition of tolerance according to Anna Galeotti and its relevance to the issue of rejecting the construction of houses of worship in Indonesia. This paper uses the historical-factual method regarding Anna Galeotti's thoughts on public recognition of tolerance. This study is divided into two parts, the first one discusses life and work and the idea of tolerance as public recognition. The second is the relevance of her thoughts in the context of building an attitude of tolerance in Indonesia, especially concerning the construction of houses of worship. The findings of this paper include the need of the application of the principle of justice in people's lives; it is not enough having laws and regulations concerning the construction of houses of worship, but there needs to be an official public acceptance of the way of life of minorities and a firm acknowledgment of it by the government; the need of acceptance and stability as a way to maintain relations between the majority and the minority.
