Charging infrastructure development, especially fast-charging stations, is quite excellent in terms of charging time and speed compared to the other charging options. But that will reduce the battery lifetime. On the other hand, Battery Swapping Station (BSS) will swap batteries within ten minutes. As here, there is no need for fast charging of batteries; it will increase the lifetime. This paper presents a detailed and systematic review of BSS integration into the power system. Also, the concept of BSS-Microgrid is presented where the BSS can act as an Energy Storage System (ESS) upon requirement.
