The deployment of strategic sleep scheme in Visible light communication (VLC) system can prevent energy wastage. The pilot signal is efficiently utilized for switching between active and sleep states of VLC access points (APs). The results demonstrate the energy efficiency of the proposed scheme over always ON VLC system. The scheme is being utilized for multiuser scenario and idle probability of AP is analysed.
