Procesy urbanizacji w strefie zewnętrznej Białegostoku

Purpose – Presentation of selected issues connected with the urbanization of the area surrounding the city based on the literature on the subject and the analysis of the external zone of Bialystok in terms of population changes, land use and economic activity which is conducted there. Research method – The research methods adopted in the study include a descriptive research and statistical methods. Results – An indication of the functions of Bialystok suburban areas and the nature of suburbanization. Originality /value – The article exposes the issues of the external zone of cities, which is in line with the perceived need for wider analyzes of such areas.
