The regulation of local government authority in New Renewable Energy affairs regulated in the Local Government Law has caused problems in achieving the national energy mix target. This research is a normative juridical research with a statutory and conceptual approach. The results showed that the lack of involvement of the role of local governments, both provincial and district/city areas for the utilization and management of NRE was due to limited regulations regarding the authority of local governments in NRE affairs to only regulate geothermal affairs.
