New DSP microprocessor-based programmable interface components
Two new interface components and their high-potential payoff applications are described. The architectures on which these components are based consist of a DSP microprocessor driving a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) driving a DSP microprocessor. These interface components could be described as smart DACs or smart ADCs, respectively.
