The review is divided into six themes: legislation that supports food and nutrition policies; the importance of epidemiological studies; evaluation criteria for the epidemiological profile of nutritional health; references for classification and assessment of nutritional health status; nutritional status related to the risk of nontransmissible chronic morbidities and methods for assessing the risk of malnutrition.
