Comparative analysis of the level of socio-economic development of large and largest Russian cities
To build the classification and typology of 75 cities with a population of more than 250 thousand people, 6 indicators were used to characterize the level of economic development (employment, industrial production, construction and investment, retail trade turnover, local budget revenues) and 6 indicators characterizing the level of social development (population growth, wages, provision of housing, doctors, hospital beds and outpatient organizations). In order to level out possible annual emissions of individual, primarily economic indicators, the average annual values of the above indicators for the three-year period 2017-2019 are calculated. The classification of cities according to the level of economic and social development was carried out by grouping cities into 5 groups (E1 and C1 – Leaders, E2 and C2 – High level, E3 and C3 – Medium level, E4 and C4 – Low level, E5 and C5 – Outsiders) depending on the values of integral indicators. The typology of cities by the level of socio-economic development is built as a result of a combination of types of groups into which cities fall by the level of economic and social development. There are 9 such types in total
