A single switching capacitor with five-level inverter for AC motor load is formed in the proposed work. The output voltage of the proposed five-level inverter is more than twice that of the DC input voltage. This topology uses eight power switches and a single switched capacitor to enhance input voltage using the charge pump idea, which involves charging and discharging capacitors in parallel and series. For making required gating signals for changes used in multi-level inverters, level shifted PWM approach with phase shifted reference signal and triangle waves with same orientation is utilized. The use of a five-level inverter with a smaller LC filter reduces the output voltage harmonic distortion of an AC motor drive.
