Analog and digital functionality from composite resonator vertical cavity lasers
Composite resonator VCSELs with optically coupled but electrically independent dual cavities enable new functionality. We report push/pull digital modulation at 2.5 Gb/s and analog microwave frequency mixing from the same laser.
