Thus it is significance to propose a correct and efficient simulation method for generating phase noise. In this paper, an effective and practical simulation method is put forward to generate the phase noise of oscillators built on the work and insight of predecessors. This novel method is described in detail and focuses on the generation processes of phase noise. In the novel method, FIR shaping filters are used to generate power-law noise components which are further processed to obtain the phase noise data consistent with specified noise coefficients in time domain, and the method is also validated in the frequency domain.
