The results indicated that the crack of the HV sheath was mainly related to the unqualified bonding process and long-term external stress actions. Air void was introduced into the metal fitting-sheath interface due to inferior pasting technology, causing accelerated aging of HV sheath silicone rubber materials. Besides, the corner of composite insulator sheath was always high stress concentrated.
