In addition, critical thinking skills can stimulate student intelligence, and therefore need to be sharpened from an early age. This study aims to determine the effect of applying the problem based learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills. This study uses a quantitative approach of the type pre-experimental design, with one-group pretest - posttest design. Subjects used in class X IPS SMA N 1 Suralaga totaled 34 students. Data collection techniques used multiple choice and essay tests on critical thinking skills.Data analysis using t test.
