A new method to improve the precision of radar level gauge is proposed based on combining radar frequency-modulation and phase discrimination. The method adopts frequency-modulation technique to get rough data of an unknown level, uses phase-discrimination technique to get subtle data, and then joins them together to get high accuracy composition data of the level.
