As in the rest of the world, a large part of forest fires in Turkey are of anthropogenic origin. When the 2008-2018 General Directorate of Forestry (GDF) data are analysed 63.2% of the fires were caused by negligence, carelessness and accident, 7% by intention, 2% by natural causes, and 27.8% by unidentified other reasons. This research is aimed to measure the job satisfaction of the workers involved in combating forest fires within the scope of Kahramanmaraş Regional Directorate of Forestry. For this purpose, a face-to-face survey technique was applied to 85 randomly selected forest fire workers through a questionnaire consisting of 6 sections. The research data were analyzed by using reliability test, correlation and variance analysis and Duncan test method. It has been determined that there were statistical differences between forest firefighters aged 50 years and over and other age groups in terms of “Working environment and conditions”, “Communication”, “Job consciousness” and “Advancement-training opportunities”. The main reason for this difference is seen as the experience of forest firefighters aged 50 years and over. The importance levels of the factors affecting work satisfaction of the forest firefighters were evaluated. According to the results, “Salary” plays a significant role in work satisfaction and “Work peace” is at the second importance level.
