Virtual simulation technology has unique technical advantages. In recent years, the concept of coordinated development has penetrated all walks of life. Virtual simulation practice teaching is an important practice content of national information education strategy. Surveying and mapping engineering is a highly practical professional discipline. This paper takes the construction of virtual simulation practice center as a platform, analyzes the characteristics of virtual simulation technology, the development direction of surveying and mapping engineering industry, etc., expounds the construction process and principle of surveying and mapping simulation courses, and discusses the application of virtual simulation technology to the surveying and mapping engineering cases analysis.
