A review of the plan and past research reveals that the ministry of new and renewable energy has already started building a developing scenario for the nation's renewable energy. It has announced an ambitious plan to install 175 GW of renewable energy capacities by 2022. Moreover, India has adequate wind speed that results in a good chance for expansion of wind energy generation. This paper presents the major constraints in a rational and incorporated way for the development renewable energy in India. An effort has been made to summarize the availability, current scenario, strategies, perspective and promotion of renewable energy sources.
