In this paper, a model-based fault diagnosis method is proposed, which uses the unscented Kalman filter to diagnose the fault of the speed sensor. First, the mathematical model of the system is established, subsequently, the measurements are estimated by the unscented Kalman filter. Moreover, the residual errors between the estimated values and measured values are obtained. According to the residual errors, the fault of the system will be diagnosed.
