The method for collecting the soil water content data on a large agricultural area is needed and motivates the development of drone radar systems for this purpose. The presence of vegetation in the agricultural area poses a problem in the detection process. The vegetation presence can influence the estimation results. This paper discusses the development of a radar-drone system starting from theoretical studies and numerical simulations. Then proceed with modeling laboratory experiments and realization of the prototype.
