The limitation in the energy resources availability, the continuing increasing of the fossil fuels cost and the more attention to the earth ecosystem, is making storage systems a suitable solution in many applications ranging from grid application toward the industrial and transportation ones. In this paper a review of actual electrical storage technologies suitable for transportation and naval applications is provided with particular attention to the functionalities that is possible to introduce according to the selected technology.
